ASCOG Aging Advocate November 5, 2012

Happy Monday!  Get out and vote!

On this date in 1972 Susan B. Anthony voted for the first time.  She was fined $100.  This is also the birthday of Vivien Leigh (1913-1967).

Can sitting up straight keep you from getting depressed?  A study from San Fransisco State University seems to say it does.

The cost of long term care continues to rise.

If your electricity goes out and you have to use a generator please make sure you keep it outside, and watch for symptoms of CO poisoning.

The vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff expressed his gratitude for those that are caregivers of veterans.

Donating to the Red Cross to help storm victims is as easy as sending a text message.  Just text REDCROSS to 90999 and a $10 contribution will be charged to your phone bill.  When giving to victims of Hurricane Sandy beware of disaster recovery scams.

In case you missed it, there was a Saturday edition of the Aging Advocate.
